Technology Demonstration Series from BroadcastMed's visit to SAGES 2022
SubQ-it is a bioabsorbable skin stapler that demonstrates the next generation of wound closure technology - its use minimizes scarring, elimiates suture tying to aid efficiency and overall cost savings.

My name is rob with sub Q. It were a bio drivable skin stapler and it's a single use single operator device. This is a prototype of it which will be launching later on in the air. Give you a quick idea how it works. There's an introducer here, right here it goes inside the wound, the feet will grab the tissue. So if you look on the underside which would be the underside of the patient, it actually inverts the skin. This needles come out. I don't know if you can capture that on video but there's needles there which delivers the suture then it's released and you remove it and what you end up with is a bio absorbable implant that it's underneath the surface of the skin. It creates a little bit of a version. So you have a nice healing, there's no tension on the wound and sew cosmetic wise it's very good. It's much quicker um than a hand suture which is really the most people are closing it right now so it's much quicker. It's much faster. Very efficient and saves time in the O. R.
